Olympic medalist and Turkish national shooter Yusuf Dikeç has entered into a new collaboration aimed at bringing the experience he has gained in international competitions to Türkiye’s defense industry, with a focus on sporting use and performance.
At a press meeting held in Istanbul, it was announced that Dikeç will contribute his perspective as a professional athlete and his user experience to Derya Arms’ work focused on sporting applications.
Having represented Türkiye for many years in national and international competitions, Dikeç is expected to contribute to the company’s work particularly in areas such as athletes’ needs, ergonomics and performance evaluation, drawing on his experience at the highest level of competition.
Olympic Experience Meets Industry Expertise
As part of the collaboration, Dikeç’s field experience from his professional shooting career is expected to be incorporated into Derya Arms’ work on sporting use and performance.
The initiative aims to directly integrate feedback from a professional athlete into the company’s development efforts for sporting applications.
Dikeç drew widespread international attention with his performance for Türkiye at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and has become one of the Turkish athletes who have helped raise the global profile of shooting sports.
Defense Industry Structure Also Draws Attention
Another aspect of the collaboration is Derya Arms’ ties to institutional structures within Türkiye’s defense industry.
Derya Arms is among the founding partners of Konya Savunma Sanayi A.Ş. and is also a shareholder in ASELSAN Konya Silah Sistemleri A.Ş., reflecting the company’s position within the sector.
In the new period, Dikeç’s international competition experience and the company’s industry expertise are expected to come together particularly in work focused on sporting use and performance.
The collaboration also stands out as an example of how the field and user perspective of a national athlete with Olympic-level experience can be transferred to industrial development efforts in Türkiye.
